U.S. News reviewed public schools in all 50 states for the 2025-2026 Best High Schools rankings, which includes rankings for 18,000 eligible schools.
Lake George Jr.-Sr. High School ranked #1 in the Glens Falls, NY Metro Area out of the 19 area high schools. In New York State, our District was the #105 out of 1,276 and the #1,066 rankings out of 17,901 high schools nationwide.
“This ranking isn’t just a number, it’s a testament to the incredible dedication and hard work of our parents, students, and staff. Being number one in the Glens Falls Region is a true honor and a reflection of what we can achieve when we all work together!” said Principal Cocozza.
Each school is ranked based on these six factors using students’ performances on varying assessments which include, college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student population, and graduation rate.
Other factors for ranking schools include advanced placement (AP) exam classes and assessments taken by students as well as math, science, and reading proficiency.
