Six seniors took the next step in their athletic journeys on Wednesday, May 27, officially signing their letters of intent to continue competing at the collegiate level. Family, friends, teammates, and coaches gathered to celebrate the milestone as Mykah Collier-Fisher signed to play soccer at Utica University, Bailee Dineen signed to continue her soccer career at Division II Lynn University, Dereck Graven signed to play Division I football at Wagner College, Mollie Johnson signed to play softball at SUNY Oneonta, Erik LaFond signed to continue his soccer career at SUNY Plattsburgh, and Wyatt Meyer signed to play baseball at Worcester Academy.

“Each of the individuals sitting here today represents years of relentless effort, early mornings, late nights, sacrifices, triumphs, and sometimes heartbreaking setbacks,” said Kyle Manny, Athletic Director. “They have poured their hearts and souls into their respective sports, not for glory alone, but for the pride of our school, the camaraderie of their teammates, and the sheer love of the game.”
For many of the athletes, the day marked the payoff of years of practices, games, travel, and hard work.
“Signing D1 is honestly surreal. I’ve wanted to play the highest level of football since I could remember honestly,” said Dereck Graven. “Now that it actually happened it feels weird. But I’m very excited for the future and where this can bring me.”
The group was surrounded by coaches, teammates, friends, and family members as they celebrated where their sports careers will take them next. Wednesday’s signing was a chance to recognize everything these seniors have accomplished and wish them luck at the next level.
