A longtime educator and Lake George resident, Levett brings more than 15 years of educational experience and a strong connection to the community. Currently serving as the Assistant Principal of Glens Falls High School, Levett earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Ithaca College in 2006 and his Master’s degree in sports management in 2007. In 2018, he earned his Certificate of Advanced Study in school building leadership.

He began his career as a physical education teacher at M.E. Maroun Elementary School in Phoenix, New York and then at Hudson Falls High School, where he served from 2009 to 2022. During his time in Hudson Falls, he also gained administrative experience as interim assistant principal before moving into his current role at Glens Falls High School.

Levett, who lives in Lake George with his wife and three children who attend Lake George Elementary School, said he is honored and excited for the opportunity to serve the district in a leadership role.

“Being selected as the next principal at Lake George Elementary School is an exciting honor,” said Levett. “I look forward to getting to know the students, families, faculty, and staff who make LGES such a special community and working together to support the success and growth of every student.”

Superintendent John Luthringer said Levett’s experience, leadership style, and connection to the community made him a strong fit for the position.

“This marks an important milestone for our district following a collaborative and highly competitive search process,” said Luthringer. “Throughout each phase of the process, Bill’s authenticity, passion for building relationships, and clear alignment with our district values distinguished him as the right choice to lead our elementary school. We look forward to welcoming Bill to our school district and are confident he will have a positive impact on our students, staff, and community.”
