Lake George Accounting Students Explore Real-World Careers at Bucknam & Conley CPA Firm

Mrs. Hoffman’s Accounting I and College Accounting classes recently visited Bucknam & Conley Tax & Advisory CPA Firm in Saratoga Springs for an engaging and informative field trip. Students learned about numerous aspects of the accounting profession, including the requirements and steps needed to become a CPA, essential skills for success in the field, and how the industry continues to evolve through remote work opportunities and cloud-based client services. They also gained a clearer understanding of why accounting is a vital part of every business, regardless of size or industry.

Former Lake George graduate and current employee of the firm, Madeline Mann, along with several other staff members, shared their career journeys and educational paths, offering students valuable insight into real-world professional experiences.

The visit concluded with a lively and competitive round of Accounting Jeopardy, complete with snacks and prizes to round out the morning. Students enjoyed a fun and educational experience that allowed them to see firsthand how the concepts they are learning in class are applied in the workplace.

The Lake George Business Education Department extends its sincere thanks to Carissa Conley, partner at Bucknam & Conley Tax & Advisory CPA Firm, and staff members Riley Markle, Madeline Mann, Wendy Gifford-Garnsey, and Stacey Gotski for generously sharing their time, expertise, and passion for accounting with our students.
