Lake George High School Welcomes Back Class of 2025 for Annual Alumni Panel

Lake George High School hosted its annual Alumni Panel, welcoming back members of the Class of 2025 to share their first-hand experiences transitioning from high school to college. The event provided current juniors and seniors with a valuable opportunity to hear directly from recent graduates who are now navigating college life.

Mr. Preuss, LGHS counselor for grades 10–12, facilitated a 40-minute question-and-answer session with students from the 11th and 12th grade classes. This year’s panel featured Evelyn Burke of Brandeis University, Anthony Cocozza of Marist University, Freddy Linehan of SUNY Adirondack, and Rebecca Pape of Liberty University.

Throughout the discussion, panelists addressed a wide range of topics that matter most to students preparing for life after LGHS. Questions focused on balancing academics with college athletic commitments, maximizing scholarship opportunities, and what a typical day looks like for a college student. Panelists also shared insights on housing and roommates, key differences between high school and college coursework, the importance of self-discipline and time management, and how they ultimately finalized their college choices.

The Alumni Panel is coordinated each year while recent graduates are home during their break between college semesters. By returning to LGHS, panelists help demystify the college experience and give current students a clearer understanding of what to expect as they prepare for their next steps.

“There is real value in students learning from recent graduates who were sitting in these same seats not long ago,” said Preuss. “Hearing from college students and their peers helps make the transition feel more real, more relatable, and ultimately more achievable.”
