Students Explore Future Pathways at Career Jam

Students from Lake George Jr.-Sr. High School attended the Career Jam event at Hudson Valley Community College’s TEC-SMART campus in Ballston Spa. This was an engaging, hands-on experience designed to help students explore a wide range of local career opportunities.

Representatives from area businesses showcased professions across 14 nationally recognized career clusters, giving students the chance to try interactive activities and learn what skills and education are needed for success in various industries. From healthcare and technology to skilled trades and public service, students gained valuable insight into the many pathways available to them after graduation.

By introducing these options early, Career Jam encourages students to make informed choices about their futures and inspires them to pursue careers that strengthen both the local workforce and the regional economy.

“It was energizing to see students excited and engaged with different employers and talking about the different roles that they could see themselves taking on as they begin to make career choices,” said School Counselor Jennifer Dell’Olio. “Even if it helps students learn things that don’t interest them, for middle-level students, exploration and exposure of any kind is essential!”
