Lake George Central School District Community Passes 2024-25 Budget


On Tuesday, May 21, voters in Lake George Central School District passed a $25,467,399 budget proposal for the 2024-25 school year by a vote of 320-78. Under the approved budget, a 2.69% tax increase will maintain high-quality programming for Lake George students next year.


“I have immense gratitude for our community’s unwavering commitment to education. The passage of this budget is a testament to our shared vision of providing a nurturing and enriching environment for every student within the Lake George Central School District. Together, we have paved the way for a brighter future brimming with opportunities and academic excellence,”  says Superintendent John Luthringer. 

The voters also approved the purchase of one 65-passenger electric vehicle bus not to exceed $160,000 of a vote of 284-114.

Voters elected the following candidates to fill two open seats on the Lake George Board of Education:

  • Board Member Katie Bruening –  327 votes
    • Term through June 30, 2027
  • Board Member Jeffrey Meyer – 353 votes
    • Term through June 30, 2027
