LGES participates in Special Olympics Young Athletes state fall games
In October, 15 Lake George Elementary School students in grades K-2 participated in the Special Olympics Young Athletes State Fall Games at the Adirondack Dome.
Along with students from other area schools, the students from LGES were introduced to a wide range of activities including, motor skills, cooperative learning, acceptance, and sports readiness.
Second grade teacher, Alex Poetzsch said, “The students got to participate in a variety of outdoor games to promote and think about inclusion. They thoroughly enjoyed the activities while working together and having fun at the same time. It was a great afternoon!” This debut event for young athletes came before the evening kickoff of the Special Olympics state games, which was the largest to date in the region!
