At Lake George Elementary School, students lead the Parent-Teacher Conferences!
They are empowered to discuss what they did well, what they need to work on, two academic goals, and how they want to reach their goals.
The students are happy to be a part of the conferences and like the opportunity to demonstrate leadership and personal responsibility.
Student-led conferences are part of the LGES “Leader In Me” process that teaches leadership and life skills and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Students learn to become self-reliant, manage their emotions, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, increase interpersonal skills, and develop the skills and self-confidence to successfully lead their lives.
