September 13, 2021

Dear Lake George CSD Faculty/Staff, Parents and Guardians,

Warren County remains in High community transmission, and as can be expected, we are seeing positive COVID cases as we start the academic year.  Moving forward, the district will send SchoolMessenger emails when a new COVID positive individual has been reported to the district.  Additionally, each day you can view a daily COVID summary chart on the district website.

Here is a summary COVID update as of Monday, September 13, 2021. This summary uses the best information that has been reported to us by a local health department or by parents/guardians/employees.

* Contact tracing has been completed for all positive individuals. If any confirmed case requires mandatory quarantine or others, we have already contacted parents and/or staff members by phone.

* All positive individuals are in quarantine and will have to recover and be cleared by the Department of Health before returning to school.

Please understand the following important points around our continued pandemic operations:

  • If your child is vaccinated and had contact with a positive case, they will not need to quarantine as long as they are not symptomatic. The CDC recommends that they are tested 3-5 days after exposure and wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result.
  • If your child is unvaccinated and has had contact with a positive case, they will be quarantined for 10 days.
  • The primary mode of instruction during quarantine is asynchronous learning through Google Classroom and daily check-ins with a remote teacher.

The health, safety, and well-being of our school community remain our main focus. We will continue to work closely with Warren County Public Health, New York State Department of Health, and the CDC and will follow their guidance on how to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.  For detailed information about these efforts, review the Lake George Reopening Plan 2.0Additionally, starting September 21st, all unvaccinated employees of the district will undergo weekly COVID testing.
