Lake George Board of Education to Name Interim Superintendent
The Lake George Central School District Board of Education is expected to appoint Dr. Doug Huntley as their interim superintendent at the next meeting of the Board on September 14, 2021. He will begin on September 15, 2021 and serve in the interim role until a permanent superintendent is named. The district will pay Dr. Huntley $650 per day. Huntley is a retiree, therefore, the district is not obligated to offer health insurance nor required to contribute to the state retirement system on his behalf.
Board of Education President Tricia Connor Biles said: “As a seasoned superintendent, most recently for the Queensbury Union Free School District from 2008-2020, and an education professional working with new and future superintendents, Dr. Huntley brings a wealth of experience to Lake George and will help us move forward with our strategic plan. The Board of Education thanks Lynne Rutnik for her five years of service to the district and wishes her well in her new position as deputy superintendent for the Schenectady City School District."
Dr. Huntley said: “I am very excited to join the Lake George Central School District. Lake George has a strong reputation for academic excellence, and I look forward to helping the district continue to excel and transition to more permanent leadership."
Dr. Huntley lives locally in Queensbury with his wife, Mary-Jane. He has two grown children.
