Reimagined Puppet Show Engaged Students

Lake George Elementary students recently enjoyed virtual performances by “Puppets in Education.”

“Puppets in Education'' is a Vermont Family Network initiative that empowers children to talk about important and sometimes difficult issues. The age-appropriate performances touched on topics such as kindness, controlling anxiety and fear, and developing a healthy body image.

The puppeteers reimagined their live performances as virtual shows due to COVID-19 restrictions, and the scripts were adapted to reflect challenges students are experiencing now. Topics now include ways to express emotions and facial expressions while wearing masks and keeping the mind and body healthy. Each performance incorporated student participation and interaction.

Many thanks to Maltbie Chevrolet for making this virtual visit possible!
