Lake George/Hadley-Luzerne and Corinth Football to Merge

On Tuesday, December 8, 2020, the Lake George Central School District Board of Education was the final of three school district Boards of Education to approve the athletic merger of the Corinth and Lake George/Hadley-Luzerne football teams. The teams are currently awaiting Adirondack League and Section 2 review and approval, which will take place January-February 2021.

The new, merged football program will include students from each district in grades 7-12. The program is planning to field teams for modified, junior varsity, and varsity. They would compete in NYSPHSAA Section 2 Class C.

Lake George and Hadley Luzerne Central School Districts already have an agreement in place for their football and wrestling programs.

The districts are collaborating on a mutually agreed-upon team name and logo. District students, staff, and community members will be asked to participate in the approval process.

Logistics such as costs, transportation, and coaching will be split evenly between districts. Teams will alternate among two campuses for games (Lake George and Corinth). Each school will host two home games, and each school will be responsible for transportation to the game site.

Pending Adirondack League and Section 2 approval, the involved school districts will announce further details.
