Two Student Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Congratulations to Lake George High School Seniors Tyler Bergman and Sean Butowski who signed National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the college level next year. Tyler committed to playing softball at the University of Missouri (Mizzou), while Sean committed to playing baseball at Millersville University in Pennsylvania.

Tyler is a starting shortstop and contributing pitcher, with several no-hitters for the Lake George Varsity Softball Team. She holds the school record in batting average (.541 and 1.033%) and hits (38). She was named to:

  • Adirondack League First Team in 2017, 2019
  • Section 2 All Star in 2017, 2019
  • First Team All State Class C shortstop, pitcher 2019
  • Third Team All State Class C shortstop, pitcher in 2017

She is also a member of ADK Xtreme travel team. She pitched a perfect game in 2016 as a 14U and played catcher and shortstop as 18U. She plans to catch at Mizzou but will play "wherever Coach Anderson puts me." Mizzou's Coach Anderson is a 1992 alumna of Lake George High School.

Sean Butkowski plays first base for the Lake George Varsity Baseball Team. He also plays with the Adirondack Warriors travel team. He chose Millersville because he wants to play for a team that will compete for a national championship, as well as for the great coaching staff, atmosphere, and the University itself.

Millersville’s Coach Shehan said: "Sean is an outstanding student who comes from an area that we don't normally recruit. He came highly recommended by a former Power 5 coach who sent him to a camp this summer. Sean has a few quality tools and he can play both first base and corner outfield positions, but we didn't sign him for his defense. Sean can flat out hit. He has super power for a high school player and a very mature approach at the plate. Combining that maturity with maturity in the classroom made him a slam dunk signee for us.”

Best wishes to these student athletes!
