Latest Guidance from NYSDOH

October 22, 2020

Dear Lake George Families,

Thank you all for the exceptional job you have been doing to follow the NYS Department of Health (NYS DOH) and CDC guidelines as we transitioned back to in-person learning. Our collective efforts have led to success thus far.

We truly appreciate you keeping your children home from school when they are not feeling well. This will be especially important as we move into flu season. Please click here for a refresher on the flu. NYS DOH recommends the first and best way to protect against the flu is to get a yearly flu vaccine for yourself and your child.

NEW ~ Latest Guidance from NYSDOH
If your child is home sick for 48 hours and his/her symptoms worsen or continue, please take your child to get a COVID test. You can click here to locate and call the nearest COVID testing facility (type in your zip code).

Please continue to report absences and symptoms to your child’s school. The Lake George Central School District may ask you for a doctor’s note and a negative COVID test before your child can return to school after being home sick for 48 hours or more.

For more information, please click here for Nurses’ Notes Regarding COVID.

Also on our website is a Tool Kit with flow charts to help you decide if your child can attend school and/or return to school after being ill.

Reminder:
• Wash hands and wear masks – this works!!
•  When planning/booking holiday travel, please review New York State's COVID-19 Travel Advisory and quarantine requirements

Thank you for your continued cooperation and partnership. Our collective efforts are vital to keeping our students learning in-person through this global pandemic. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns at 518-668-5456.
