Coronavirus School Closure Update March 18, 2020

March, 18, 2020

Dear Lake George Families,

Tomorrow begins our first official day of working remotely during the coronavirus school closure. All students and staff members, with the exception of custodial staff, will be connecting from their “home offices.” All office staff have been placed on remote work schedules and phones have been forwarded to their remote locations during regular working hours.

All school buildings and grounds will be closed during this time. School grounds include playgrounds, basketball courts, track, etc.

If you need access to supplies, please email the principals. We are making every effort to practice social distancing and do our part to slow the spread of coronavirus to our families, friends, and neighbors.

Please keep in mind that this situation is ever-evolving. As we receive further guidance from the county or state, we will communicate with all of you via SchoolMessenger and the district website should anything change.

FOOD SERVICE

Reminder, the district is providing free “grab and go” meals to any student in the Lake George Central School District. If you would like access to this support, email Mrs. Kemm Wilson Pemrick at wilsonk@lkgeorge.org. Meals are served Monday through Friday at the Lake George High School. Please pull up to the designated area by the auditorium doors on Mountain Drive. In order to maximize social distancing, please remain in your car and your meal will be brought to you. If you need delivery, please let us know.

Meal Pickup Time:

  • Thursday 3/19 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. - Friday 3/20 8:00 a.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Starting 3/23, pick up and delivery will be Monday-Wednesday-Friday 8:00 to 9:00  a.m.

We will be assessing this approach this week and will consider if changes are needed. We appreciate your feedback.

Be well,

Lynne Rutnik

Superintendent of Schools
