Superintendent Unveils Additional Communication Channel for Student Voices

Superintendent Rutnik is excited to announce an additional communication channel to strengthen effective communication and intentionally promote and support LGCSD core values and goals.
"I would like to take this time to communicate my intention to move forward with a district level, student ambassador committee," said Mrs. Rutnik. "This committee, coined "The Breakfast Club," will be an opportunity for students' voices to be heard on larger, district-wide items."

The intention of the Breakfast Club is to bring about unity and greater understanding on a variety of district-level items including future strategic planning efforts. The committee will be comprised of a diverse student body who will represent their school communities and discuss issues that are important to students in LGCSD. The Breakfast Club will promote and embody our core district values of Collaboration, Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Trust, and Empathy (C.R.E.A.T.E.).

This year, 12 students from grades 7-12 from Lake George CSD will be selected for The Breakfast Club. The ambassadors will meet every-other-month with the superintendent to offer input, insight, and suggestions on district level items that are important from a student perspective.

Ambassadors will serve on the Breakfast Club from November 2019 to May 2020 in the Board of Education Conference Room from 7:30-8:15 a.m.. Breakfast will be provided. The selection process will be as follows:

"As we move into the third year of LGCSD Strategic Plan, I believe increasing student voice in district level items will serve to help us even further as we move into the next phase of the strategic planning process," said Superintendent Rutnik.
