Congratulations to Julia Heunemann, whose photo "Warm Mountain Top” was named First Place Overall Winner for the 2019 "24 HOURS: A Photographic Interpretation of Life in the Adirondacks" competition. Julia will be honored at a reception at The Lake Placid Art Center on Friday, March 29, 2019.
The award-winning photo was taken on a trail that leads behind Dunham’s Bay.
“I was in a boat with my friend just before the first snow of the season, and the colors are so bright, it makes everything pop,” Julia said. “I like the variation of seasons because I can use all the different settings on my camera. It’s always cool to capture the change between each season.”
Julia has lenses that attach to her phone, which she always carries.
“It’s cool to see the technology that people come up with that make photography so much easier,” she said.
Julia’s favorite type of photography is landscape. Her dream is to be part of the National Geographic team.
