Retired Lake George Coach to be Inducted into NYS Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame
Lake George Central School District is proud to announce that Mr. Dave Jones, retired coach of the Lake George Junior-Senior High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team, is being inducted into the New York State Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Heritage Hall of the Cool Insuring Arena. Tickets for the induction ceremony can be purchased by emailing Tim Kissane at firstname.lastname@example.org before March 15, 2019.
Coach Jones had an overall record of 360 wins 101 losses – a winning percentage of 78%. His teams won eight Adirondack League Championships, six Section 2 Titles, five Regional Championships (his teams never lost a regional competition), five New York State Tournament appearances, and three NYS Championships. He coached at Lake George for over 20 years, and his teams’ success was a direct result of his attention to detail.
"Along with his coaching staff of Tim Kissane, Greg Luckenbaugh, Blake White, Keith Putnam, and Bill Wetherbee, Coach Jones helped develop Lake George student-athletes both on and off the court. The values he instilled in these young men will be with them forever," said Lake George Superintendent Lynne Rutnik. "On behalf of the Lake George Board of Education, I want to congratulate Coach Jones on this phenomenal culminating career achievement."
