Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does student council do? Student Council is the students representation in the school. Every activity conducted by the students is coordinated through student council. We also conduct many activities ourselves such as Homecoming, and Spirit Weeks, as well as other community events. When does student council meet, and how can I be involved? Student Council meets the second Wednesday of every month. The best way to be involved is to talk with your Class Representatives to discuss any ideas or concerns. Your class representative should be able to let you know about upcoming events, where you can be involved. Students do not typically come to student council meetings, as the the student government is based upon a representative system, but there are numerous opportunities for you to get involved with your student government. I disagree with something in the Handbook, can Student Council do anything about this? Student Council has very limited power over the rules in the handbook, as we are not the ones who write it. We can, however, address concerns to faculty and address your concerns, but the handbook is usually outside the realm of Student Council affairs. |
