STUDENT NEWS
- Today and tomorrow are the 8th grade Social Studies tests
periods 2, 3, 4 and 6. Study hall changes necessary are: Mrs. Kloepfer’s
study hall 103, second period goes to room 201 today; Mrs. Kandora’s study
hall 101 tomorrow goes to room 105.
- Elena Alessi please see Mrs. Frost immediately after announcements.
- Senior Ball Tickets are now on sale! They will only be sold during 6th
period outside the cafeteria. Seniors do not have to pay, all others are
$20.00. If you hve any questions see Ali Canavan or Theresa Schiavo.
- There is a mandatory rehearsal today in room 217 for anyone
wanting to sing at graduation. If you can’t attend, see Ms. Reid before the
end of the day if you want to be in it.
- Extra yearbooks are now on sale in Mrs. Heller’s room 108. Cost
is $50. Purchase yours ASAP.
- The district is running a photo contest to find a great picture
of the lake for our new website. If you want to enter a photo you have
taken, bring it in to the main office and fill out an entry form. If it's in
a digital format, you can send it to Mr. Strauss at straussr@lkgeorge,org. A
prize of $25 has been offered to the winner. It will be used on the district
home page of our new website.
- Students: Your parents will be receiving through the mail a parent
survey for the PTSO. When your parents complete this survey, please
return it to your guide room teacher or the main office. The grade
level/class who returns the most PTSO parent surveys will be given a pizza
party. Please encourage your parents to fill out this survey and get it back
to school by Monday, June 2. Thank you.
- Thinking about a career in the health field? HEALTH QUEST
is a six-week summer job program for students interested in health career
occupations. Students earn money and explore careers while working in
different departments in area hospitals.
MUSIC TODAY
- Attention Drumline members: If you plan on going down to the
Village on Friday to play, you need to go to mandatory practices today and
tomorrow! If you cannot attend see Jason Berry or Mrs. Baker.

- Reminder:
Les Dennis Memorial Scholarship (has a community service
criteria) application is due no later than Friday, May 30th to
the Adirondack Booster Club.
SPORTS
- The last day for sports physicals will be this Thursday, June 5th!
The list is posted outside the health office.
- All PE exemptions are due back today!
- Attention Track team: Clean track uniforms must be returned to
Mr. Guidetti in room 14 ASAP. Students who are going to the State Qualifiers
are the exceptions!
- Congratulations to the following students who have been chosen in to the
2008-2009 Varsity Club: Sara Anderson, Jason Berry, Katelyn Callahan,
Jordan Conway, Katie Flatley, Cameron Jones, Ryan Lynch, Toby Noble and
Caitlin Tomko. We will meet next week!
- Tri-County Middle League sign up sheet is posted outside Mr. Clark’s
office.
- There will be a meeting today for any girl, grades 7-11 who would like
to tryout for football cheerleading next year.
- Tickets for Senior Athletic Awards Banquet will go on sale
beginning today. Athletes are paid for by the Athletic Booster Club and all
other tickets are $20. Checks should be made payable to Lake George Varsity
Club. Final count is needed for Roaring Brook by June 9. Buy your tickets
next week!
- Today, the Varsity Boys Baseball team plays at Clifton Commons at
7 p.m. in Sectional Semis. Admission is $6.00. Bus leaves at 4:30 p.m.
- The Track & Field State Qualifiers are on Thursday and Friday
this week. The list of team members leaving at 1 p.m. on both days will be
distributed in your e-mail.
- Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team on their win
yesterday!! Tomorrow the Varsity Softball team leaves at 1 p.m. for
sectional finals at Clifton Commons against Mechanicville – game time 3 p.m.
and cost is $6.
