A. Wellness Day:

Many constituents felt that a joint wellness day with faculty and students is a great idea. Concerns ranged from attendance to logistics and planning of the event. This event will not happen until next year due to the amount of planning that needs to go into it.

With regard to the student wellness day (assembly) many felt that DWI has been overdone and that more discussion time is needed in small groups. Many constituents also felt that the assembly was too long and too big and that smaller groups would be more effective.

There is a Wellness Assembly planned for May 9th of this year. The multi-media presentation will be part of it, and hopefully small group discussions to follow.

B. Other:

Concern about detention; students should not be rearranging detentions for other activities.

"My Space"- websites created by students for themselves, they are putting pictures, etc. on this site. They have also made sites of others, including some faculty. Please be aware of this. Administration is looking into sending informational letter to parents to address this issue.

 

A. AIS LAB: Dave Eagle and Nick Round are still working on AIS report. Coming soon!

B. Multicultural Awareness Activities: Bill Elder and Rob Tefft are putting together guide room activities for February, which is Black History Month. Cathy Reid is trying to coordinate for a possible music assembly.

 

Language needs to be updated on brochure.

The brochure could be reformatted in other forms ( on the website, calendar, etc.)

 

· Teachers and staff should make links to Black History Month when appropriate.

· Graduate Descriptors: Read and work on the language. What’s important? What message do we want to send? Input and suggestions will give Forum suggestions.

· Initial IST Meeting will be on January 19^th. Anyone interested should see Dave, or come to the meeting.

· Wellness Day is May 9^th.
