A Message from Principal Francis Cocozza

Welcome to Lake George Jr./Sr. High School! Our school, located amid the mountains of the Adirondack Park in northern New York, is one of two buildings in our district and we house grades 7 through 12.  Accredited by Middle States and New York Board of Regents and recognized by Redbook Magazine in 1996 as one of "America's Best Schools", we are regarded as one of the leaders of academics, technology and athletics in New York State.

The Middle States Accreditation visiting committee in 1998 (see their report) found in Lake George Jr./Sr. High School "a nurturing environment in which young people can grow and develop under the guidance of caring and dedicated adults." We are proud of our strong sense of community in our school.

Our mission is to ensure that faculty, staff, students and parents work to share the responsibility for educating our students. Our commitment is to develop well-informed, productive, socially accountable world citizens. We challenge the potential of each individual by promoting the highest standards of scholarship, achievement and integrity.

The state of our school has never been better. We have a strong diverse curriculum which prepares all students for the New Standards of New York. All of our students are in Regents level classes in English, Social Studies, Math and Science.  In some cases we modify the time to ensure success. We presently offer five Advanced Placement courses, a work co-op program (CEIP), and 5 college credit courses held on our campus which can earn the student up to 12 credits through SUNY Albany before they graduate. Check out our Program of Studies for more information on our course offerings as well as our results from the New York State Report Card.

We are always interested in feedback from our parents and community and would welcome your comments and suggestions. Please phone or e-mail me if you wish to contact me.

Again, thank you for your visit!

Francis Cocozza,  Principal
Lake George Jr/Sr High School
